Bristol Rovers V Doncaster at The Memorial Stadium : Match Preview

Lines and Ollie Clarke in contention as Rovers boss plans to rotate

Darrell Clarke knows he has to be cautious with his Bristol Rovers squad as they gear up for four games in 10 days, starting against Doncaster this weekend.

Clarke has kept changes to a minimum over the last few weeks but said he felt "let down" following the 4-1 loss at Gillingham last Saturday, so he may opt to bring in fresh faces.

Ollie Clarke and Chris Lines are midfield options for the Rovers boss, who is wary of overburdening his players ahead of further fixtures at Walsall and Oldham and at home to Portsmouth.

Clarke said on the club's official website: "It's not the biggest squad in the world so we'll have to be careful with how we manage it."

Doncaster midfielder James Coppinger is likely to return from a groin problem after missing last week's draw against Oldham.

Midfielder Matty Blair, who has not featured since December 3, is rated 50/50 to come back from a calf injury by manager Darren Ferguson.

Defender Craig Alcock (calf) also has a chance having not played since the end of November.

Ferguson too will look to manage his squad over the busy festive period and that could mean the likes of defenders Joe Wright and Andy Butler and midfielder Jordan Houghton, who is playing with a knee issue, could be rested with defender Mathieu Baudry promised some pitch time.
